Manufacturing FacilitiesIntegrating Quality, Speed and Scale

AMW’s vision rests on three pillars - providing world class quality, delivering on time and maximising the economic advantage of large scale. Our integrated manufacturing facility at Bhuj is built to optimise on all three.

Our commitment to quality permits us to use only the latest and world-class facilities. The plant at Bhuj, Gujarat is spread over a sprawling 515-acre space that forms the backbone of the company's truck manufacturing in India. With state-of-the-art plants, assembly line, R&D and paint shop coupled with a modern warehouse, AMW has ensured that nothing but the best trucks roll out from these premises.

Assembly

After pre-assembly, a semi-automated assembly line ensures that chassis, engine, wheels, cabs and other components are integrated to produce trucks fit for any road and any load. AMW sources the engines for its trucks from some of the world’s best automotive manufacturers, and are fully Euro-III compliant. The process is governed by operating procedures that follow international best practices.

Cab Shop

The cab weld shop assembles cabs from pre-fabricated components through a highly automated process. The air-conditioned sleeper cabin on all AMW trucks is a first in India.

Paint Shop

Post-production, trucks move to our fully automated paint shop. The process employs an advanced technique involving the movement of highly charged particles through a colloidal suspension under an electric field. This is done to ensure a high-quality, enduring glossy finish. The shop has two state-of-the-art coating lines for carriages and cabs. It can apply as many as 11 colours simultaneously!

Frame Shop

As a manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks, AMW places great importance to the production of robust chassis systems. The Frame Shop is capable of producing in-frame truck chassis with advanced vehicle balance, handling, ride characteristics, and manoeuvrability in any terrain.

Post-manufacture, AMW trucks are subjected to a rigorous testing regime. Every single truck is verified, validated and certified for performance, durability and reliability before it is ready for the road.

Test criteria include:

  • Driving: Maximum speed, acceleration through gears, braking deceleration & stopping distance

  • Cabin: Steering effort, pass by and in-cab noise

  • Terrain: Cooling, gradeability, water-wading, stability etc

  • Fuel Consumption: On-road consumption tests conducted as per pre-determined cycles to predict overall consumption under a variety of terrain & traffic conditions

  • Structural durability of vehicles: Tested on Belgian Pave and Torture Tracks at VRDE facility in Ahmednagar, in agreement with Vehicle Research & Development Establishment of Govt. of India.

Research and Development

Research and Development has always played a key role in the AMW success story. The research brief here is simple: 'Create the next revolution'. This can be seen in AMW’s wide array of innovative products and solutions. R&D teams are constantly working closely with the marketing and manufacturing divisions, in order to improve and expand product offerings.

Research and Development

AMW's 200-seat research centre focuses on research and development of new products and technologies that impact performance characteristics, safety, environment and comfort. This means that designers are constantly working on simulation models and testing aggregates as well as finished assemblies.

All steps are taken to ensure that AMW products meet the durability and usability requirements of long-haul trucking operations, while dramatically cutting emissions and fuel costs. Engineers are constantly seeking new means to improve carrying capacity, performance and levels of operating efficiency.
