Anirudh Bhuwalka’s vision to drive the traditional trucking industry through innovative engineering and efficient transport solutions fuelled the creation of Asia MotorWorks Ltd in 2002.

Setting new trends in the trucking industry, AMW’s core strengths lie in product differentiation and customer orientation. The company manufactures 25, 40 and 49 tonne haulage and Fully Built Vehicles for specialized applications in the Heavy Commercial Vehicle segment. AMW also manufactures automotive components and forgings for a wide range of industries. AMW’s state-of-the-art modern integrated manufacturing facility spreads over 600 acres in Bhuj, Gujarat in Western India.

AMW vehicles have today become synonymous with innovation and design providing comfort and safety features such as fully fitted “ready-to-use” air-conditioned cabins, which have been readily accepted in the industry. Today AMW vehicles have a pan India presence especially in the mining areas across the country.

Anirudh Bhuwalka is a member of YEO (Young Entrepreneurs Organization), SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers), CII (Confederation of Indian Industries), CRISIL and ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India)

Anirudh is a graduate in Finance and holds a Degree in Science from Babson College, USA.

A Ramasubramanian. President, Asia Motor Works Limited

In a career spanning almost four decades of rich experience in the Indian automobile industry, Mr. Ramasubramanian spearheads business at Asia Motor Works Ltd. Ramasubramanian guides the overall performance and growth of the organization and bring in modern practices in the traditional industry.

Starting his working career in 1975 with TELCO (now Tata Motors Ltd), in their Research & Development Centre, he was responsible for the development of the first indigenously developed Banjo axle. He was also in-charge for the development of transmissions for all Tata trucks.

After a six-year stint with TELCO and thereafter nine years in Axles India limited (a joint venture between Eaton Corporation of USA and TVS Group), Ramasubramanian continued to enrich his expertise and joined Eicher Motors as Head Group ERC (Engineering Research Centre). Later on, he became Director-Technical and Chief of Product Development (1993-2003) at Eicher Motors and Group Head for Product Development for the entire Eicher Group of Companies. Under his leadership, he crafted the development of vehicles ranging from 5 tonnes to 49 tonnes. These vehicles have over time become benchmarks for the CV industry in terms of quality and enhanced performance and user-friendliness. With his keen interest in processes, ARS introduced several new processes like QFD (Quality Function Deployment) & Concurrent Engineering that enabled establishment of world-class development and progressive reduction in cycle times.

In 2003 he took over as CEO of Eicher Tractors. He was responsible for rationalization of operation and introduction of a range of water-cooled tractors. He catalyzed the turn- around for the company into a profitable organization before it was bought over by TAFE. In April 2006, he took over as CEO of Eicher Motors (Commercial Vehicle Unit).

Ramasubramanian joined AMW in 2009 and is sure to draw from his pool of expertise to build AMW as a “trend-setter” in the Heavy Commercial vehicles industry.

He is a Mechanical Engineer from the College of Engineering, Pune. A member of SAE, ASM and Indian Institute of Metals, and a qualified CFA, ARS has also published several technical papers in SAE since 1985 and holds several engineering patents.
